  1. I work in one of the last hold out states that still think that NPs don't have enough sense to prescribe controlled substances (Florida). It's still an issue of turf war here because the doctors are going into specialty care and not taking Medicaid as a specialist. It's okay for us to take care of "those types of patients" even if they are complicated but it's not okay to practice to our full capabilities. I am glad that NY state is becoming more progressive (fingers crossed).
